Chin holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in 1988 and an MBA from Northeastern University in 1994 with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Chin was active in the MIT entrepreneurial club since 1984 along with her husband and business partner, Paul Beckmann. Her foremost mission is to provide support for her very capable team and to provide winning solutions for DSP Concepts’ partners and customers. Chin has more than 20 years entrepreneurial experience and 14 years experience in audio and DSP engineering, and has language and cultural fluency in Taiwan, Argentina and the U.S. She is also pianist for the California Pops Orchestra.
Dr. Paul Beckmann has extensive experience developing audio products and implementing numerically intensive algorithms. Paul spent 9 years at Bose Corporation where he developed the first Lifestyle digital home theater product and was awarded the “Best of What’s New” award from Popular Science for contributions made to the Videostage decoding algorithm. Paul was tasked by Dr. Bose to charter Bose Institute with industry courses on digital signal processing, and holds a variety of patents in signal processing techniques. He received BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1989 and a PhD in Electrical Engineering, also from MIT, in 1992. He was a Rockwell Fellow while in graduate school.
Tim has extensive experience leading startup and growth stage companies, where he's taken on Executive, Board Member, and Angel Investor roles. He joined DSP Concepts Inc. after several successful years as CFO and Board Director of Alpha Media Group, Inc. (FlightGuru.com). Prior to AMG, Tim was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Aviva, PLC and Vice President of Corporate Development at Lincoln National Corporation. He also served in various roles including Corporate Development, Institutional Sales and Asset Liability Management at American International Group, Inc. (AIG), Providian Financial Corp. and MBNA America Bank N.A. Tim received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Isabelle is an engineer/entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience focused mostly on microphones and speech algorithms. He has developed audio technologies for Bose Corporation and Intel Corporation, and held senior-level engineering positions at Solana Technology Development and Chinook Communications. Steven received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from MIT. He has several audio patents and is an active advisor to startups.
Jim is an accomplished sales executive who's successfully scaled multiple startup and growth-stage companies in the embedded space. He came to DSP Concepts from Telink Semiconductor where he served as VP of Sales. Prior to that, Jim was VP of Sales at Stonestreet One, a Bluetooth software company which he helped lead to an acquisition by Qualcomm. Jim also held a series of engineering positions in the automotive and semiconductor industries. He holds an MSEE from Wayne State University, an MSEE in communications theory from Johns Hopkins, and a BSEE from Lawrence Institute of Technology.
An award-winning audio specialist, entrepreneur and systems engineering expert, Michael Fabry is a recognized leader in the design of automotive sound systems and speaker development. Prior to joining DSP Concepts, he co-founded S1nn Gmbh & Co. KG where he was responsible for the design of the sound systems in Tesla’s Model S and X sedans. Michael has also held senior engineering positions at Harman Becker Automotive Systems and Bose Corporation.
John holds 35 patents covering audio, acoustic, and receiver signal processing technologies. Prior to joining DSP Concepts, John grew and led the team responsible for all wireless technology at Tesla Motors. Prior to Tesla, he served as CTO of Infotainment platforms for Texas Instruments and was a Technical Fellow at Ford Motor Company and subsequently Visteon Corporation where he developed system architectures for a number of telematics, infotainment and software defined radio products. He is respected around the world as the leading expert in automotive radio technology. John enjoys his avocation of music performance, playing tuba in several orchestras, bands and chamber ensembles.
